Old Timers Disease
After my Grandma passed away in 2013 my family and I decided to take on the care of my Grandfather with Alzheimer's. This
started off as small duties to him, slowly morphing into full time 24/7 live-in care. The worse his condition got the more time I spent
along side him, helping to cook, clean and feed by hand. As I went from my early teens to being a young adult, my love of
photography grew. I slowly began to document the more intimate moments we shared, the calm contemplative moments as young carer.
Basic human functions became more difficult, care more intense, and the photos came fewer and farther between.
After years spend beside him it feels as though I've lost a best-friend rather than a grandfather. I treasure our time together and appreciate everything I learnt from him
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Oh God, oh God, Jesus help me - heard most days under his breath in the mists of confusion
